The Gluten Freak

The Pantry

The short list. Products that earned a permanent spot in my kitchen by getting bought again.

Rules of this page: a product only gets here after I have bought it at least twice with my own money and would buy it again tomorrow. No press samples, no sponsored spots, no filler to pad the list out. It grows one repeat purchase at a time, which means it will stay short and stay honest.

Where a buy link earns me a commission, it is marked as an affiliate link, exactly like the disclosure promises. The price you pay is the same either way.

#1 · The Staple

Bob's Red Mill 1-to-1 Gluten Free Baking Flour

Top of the list, and it is not close. This is the flour that lives on my counter, the one I reach for without thinking. It swaps into most regular recipes cup for cup, which is the whole magic trick: no converting, no blending four different flours on a Tuesday night, no gritty aftertaste announcing that the food is gluten-free.

It is also the flour going into the ring for the Danish pastry test in the recipe lab, up against the fancy imported blend the original recipe calls for. A staple should be able to take a punch.

Easy to find in Canada, too: most grocery chains, Walmart, and Bulk Barn carry it, and it is a staple for a reason. If you bake one thing gluten-free this year, start with a bag of this and a recipe you already love.

More staples join the list as they earn their second purchase. Cookies, bread, and pasta are all under audition right now in the reviews. When one graduates, it lands here.
